Biography: |
| | A childhood in the Australian outback was the beginning of my passion for drawing the natural world around me. Emigrating to Canada in 1960, I studied art throughout high school as well as at the University of Toronto where I studied architecture.
After a 25-year hiatus from art to raise a family and build a business career, I moved to Vancouver where, while living for almost 9 years aboard a 45-ft sailboat and cruising the spectacular Pacific Northwest coastline, I was inspired to resume drawing. In 2004, at the urging of my wife, Lorraine, to work in colour, I discovered acrylics, now my medium of choice.
In 2007, I was accepted as an Active status member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and, although still working at my business career, I spend a steadily increasing amount of time painting in my Vancouver and Nanoose Bay studios. |
